Find what kind of graphic designer you want to become by doing a little bit of research before you simply dive into classes, courses, or/and gear.
2 ) Find What skills you need to become the graphic designer you are interested in becoming.
You can do this by going to job postings and looking at what skills they are looking for in a graphic designer. Don’t waster your time adding unnecessary skills to your resume. Make sure you are honing in on the skills that will help you get the job you want and set you on the proper career path.
3 ) Should you go to college or should you learn online?
I don’t know… are you a self-motivated person or are you someone who needs guidance, direction, and deadlines to motivate you.
I needed to go to graphic design school for the motivation and direction necessary in getting my career path started as a graphic designer.
4 ) Become an expert in your field.
This will help you develop your voice and become the go to person in your niche! Very important to your career and landing a job.
5 ) Make sure you are filling your portfolio with relevant work that applies directly to the job you want to have and the career path you want to pursue!
